Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

The Narara Public School Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C) is a dedicated group of parents, teachers and interested citizens that work to provide financial and organisational support to the school. The P &C is responsible for:

• Providing opportunities for school decision making.
• Bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation.
• Providing facilities and equipment for the school.
• Encouraging parent and community participation in curriculum and other educational issues at the school.
• Co-operating with teaching staff at public functions at the school.
• Running the uniform shop.

To join, attend a meeting and bring your $0.50 membership fee. We will have a form available for you to fill out at the next meeting.

You can attend the meetings as an observer for free or become a paid member for a nominal amount of $0.50 per annum.  Membership is due for renewal at each AGM. Paid membership gives you the right to vote on matters raised and provides you with access to the minutes of the meetings even if you cannot be present.

P&C meetings

The P&C Association meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm during school terms in the School Administration Building (Staffroom). The meetings are open to all parents of the school and interested citizens local to the area.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
